Congratulations to our Junior and Senior Netball teams for winning their grand finals at the end of last term. The senior girls were faced with very stiff competition from St Marys and at the end of the first quarter our girls was behind. The girls fought back and tied the score by the end of the third quarter. Boosted by their success and the prospect of a premiership clearly in their sights, they dug in with determined defence and were aggressive in attack, winning the game by an impressive margin.
The junior girls outclassed their opponents, trouncing their opposition and leaving the exhausted Blair girls in their wake. In spite of illness and absences the girls rallied, drawing on all the torturous training they endured throughout the season and showing true Karalee Pride, brought home the trophy.
The term has started with a lot of athletics activity and the children from Karalee have performed very well. Last Thursday and Friday we both had the pleasure of accompanying our Karalee team to the District Athletics Carnival at Limestone Park where the children represented the school in great fashion. The school placed second in the aggregate trophy after exceptional performances in both the track and field events. We were also placed in these individual trophies at the completion of the carnival. 22 students are now representing the Western Ranges District at the carnival to be held at St Lucia next week. Best of luck to all of the students involved.
In other sporting news we have three girls from Karalee who will also be representing the Western Ranges District in AFL. The three girls that will be involved are Claire George, Caitlyn Jensen and Mae Stevenson. Best wishes to the girls in the next level of their sporting endeavours.
