Karalee’s Got Talent
KGT will officially be launched on parade next Friday, March 15. We are
currently working on our “Sizzling Start”
for this year. We will also be announcing the KGT Student Ambassadorwho will assist with the running of
the Junior competition. So if your child wants to get involved either as a
performer or an audience member, read on to find out how the Karalee’s
Got Talent process works…
There are three separate categories- Senior (Years 5 & 6),Junior
(Years 3 & 4) and Early Years
(Prep to Year 2). The Senior and Junior categories will be run as a
competition while the Early Years students will be given an opportunity to
perform in the PAC on Under 8s Day held
at Karalee on Thursday, June 27(further details to be provided closer to
Procedure for the Junior and Senior
Students may enter the competition as an individual or as a group. To
enter they must complete a nomination form (available
from the office) and place the form in the box provided in the office by Friday 29 March. Early in term 2, there
will be four weeks of auditions where the judges will select the top 10 acts to
go on the Top Ten Performance Show which
will be held in the PAC in May. Students attending the performance show
will then vote for their favourite performance. The top 3 performances will
then perform on parade on Friday June 7
where all students in years 3 to 6 will vote for their favourite performers.
Winners will finally be announced and presented with trophies and prizes on
parade on Friday June 21. A full calendar of dates will be posted on
the community notice board and in the next newsletter next fortnight.
Pre-audition “confidence building” sessions will take place in the PAC on
request for those children who would like to be involved in KGT but are a
little reluctant. These students need to be ready with an act and must come and
let me know they would like to take advantage of this opportunity. They can do
this simply by talking to me when they see me or coming to see me in my office
in the administration building.
I can really feel the excitement building as many students have already
indicated their intention to be involved this year. I am really looking forward
to seeing what they come up with and hoping to once again unearth new talent in
2019. Please encourage your child to get their “act” together and get involved.
It really is a lot of fun.
