Book Week

Book Week as always was an outstanding affair. Our lunch time reading events, Dress Up Day and Book Fair were all really well supported. Mrs McCarthy would like to thank everybody for their support for the Book Fair. She was particularly grateful for the manner in which the community embraced the changes this year to make the Book Fair as successful as ever.

The free discos, both held on dress up day were so much fun. A special thanks to My Neylan who was our resident DJ for the Years 3 to 6 Disco held in the Hall and to Mrs Johnson who very ably made sure our P-2s had a fabulous time. A big thanks also has to go to Mrs Norton for hosting the lunch time reading events in the PAC. Mrs Norton really makes celebrating books loads of fun!

Book Week Dress Up Day

You know Karalee, I thought 2019 was our highest level of participation ever for the Book Week dress up. But I believe the effort in 2020 surpassed all expectations. The response from both students and adults alike was a sight to behold. It was very sad that we could not share the event as we usually do with our eager parents but we still had a fabulous time parading our finery. This year we opened the parade with the incredible photos that parents had sent of their children reading at home. The photos were a huge hit. The animals that featured in many of the photos really did steal the show though! This was followed by an enthusiastic parade by each year level. They paraded to a song from a famous movie created from a book. After parade we also drew 5 Reading Challenge sheets from the 618 sheets that have been handed up until that point. The draws will now feature at every parade
